Many thanks again for getting
me home in 3:47:52 on what was my 6th marathon and first sub-4
time. Totally enjoyed the the Canberra experience, quite
different from some of the other marathons I have been lucky
enough to experience around the world. Not overlay large
or yet to small, it was some how a more intimate running
experience with a quality field thanks to the out and back
loops.
It was also a real joy to
experience running at a whole new personnel level which made
it all the better. Since signing up in just a little over 12
weeks ago I now have had two 5km PB's (two podium positions,
first of which I missed because I did not believe it) and now
finally that elusive sub-4 marathon PB.
Although riding on the 3:45 bus
until final bridge crossing, pace training proved invaluable
as it gave me much better appreciation of my current limits,
especially during the early stages when one is feeling
deceptively fresh which was the bane of my previous marathon
attempts !!
Now taking two weeks off for fun
running only, but already thinking of an Oct / Nov marathon
some place and attempt at a 3:30:00
Getting older, running PB's and
having a ball!
Thanks for making it all
possible Mate.
