The meeting
point for long runs on Wednesday is the Ship Inn at
5.15am. Both pace and distance vary according to individual
training programs and generally the route will be determined by
the distance/s to be covered.

The meeting point for
Wednesday’s is the Ship Inn at 5.30am. Pace and distance
vary but I am sure you will find someone who is running for your
time/distance/pace. Our Saturday run starts can vary
from Ship Inn/Redcliffe/Portside/New Farm so the best bet would
be to email
cmsmith@bigpond.net.au
on a Friday to
confirm where the run is leaving from. Saturdays distances vary
from 1 hour to 3:30 depending on upcoming events.

Wednesday
5.30am and Saturday 6.am from the
Ship Inn . Wednesday morning is a
medium long run (12k-18k)
@ 4:45 to 5:00min/km. Saturdays
pace is slightly slower 5.15-5.30min/km and can involve anywhere
from 2-3hrs.

Sunday:
5.30am/6:00am
Usually start at the Ship Inn – although we are trying to
freshen it up a bit and will alter it around occasionally. We
are currently starting at 5:30am with a 30 minute loop. Then
back to the Ship Inn at 6:00am to pick up those people wanting
to do less than 2 hours.
We then run
a 90 minute loop and are generally back at the start at about
7:30am – 8:00am. Pace average 4:40. Slower at start (5s) and we
try and put in a couple of ks at race pace towards the end.
We have
initiated a short stretching stop 10mins into run. We select
courses with water available or make everybody aware they will
need to carry. Fruit is always available after the run –
supplied on a loose roster basis. Everybody has fun and nobody
is dropped if they need to stop - although we do maintain pace
during the run. Average numbers currently 4 – 8 weekly.

Matty's Wednesday
Long Run
Start: 5:30am sharp at the Ship Inn
Dates: Three Wednesdays
per month
Option 1 - 18.7k
anti-clockwise Green Bridge loop with a cool down afterwards
to take us to 90 minutes .
Option 2
- 12.9k half loop, running with the Group until the top of
Highgate Hill, then direct to the Ship Inn. Ideal for
recovery/taper weeks!
Pace Range: Always
starts at about 5:00 pace with
the group running together to the Regatta. Some of us then
pick up the pace gradually before finishing at goal marathon
pace (4.00-4:30pace for most of us). Others who are in a
recovery week or need an easier run will run at a comfortable
pace throughout.
Some regulars include Matt
Phillips, Glenda Banaghan, Andy Clowes, Wayne Ralph, Matt
Langmack, Mike Robinson and Matt Reid. Newbies are always
welcome.

Saturday morning runs
with Damien, Jason, Dave, Conrad, Carly and a few others from
under the Captain Cook bridge next to Kangaroo Point. Some of
us normally start at 5:00am and come back to pick up the rest
at 5:30am. Currently running 2 to 3 hours a session and
relatively quick - 4:30 to 4:40 per k with a few quicker k's
thrown in.

Brisbane Road Runners Club is a
club formed to provide regular road runs and walks for all
grades of runners in and around the Brisbane area. Events are
usually held every other Sunday, with the
calendar of races being available for the year.
