PC: Has it been difficult
focussing on
Athens with the
London Marathon prior? In a way
will you be glad when London is out of the way so that you can
concentrate and focus solely on the Olympics?
LT: It has not been that
difficult as I broke the year into two (London, then Athens). I
will be glad when it is over as I am ready to race and as I said
before I am looking forward to it because I have trained so hard
and am so fit.
Before I stated that I have learned to be patient
and that has helped. Not good being pumped about Athens before I
have raced London.
"What doesn't hurt you won't
kill you"
PC: I recall you saying recently
"What doesn't hurt you won't kill you." Do you have any other
creeds that you wish to share that you use to motivate yourself
and steer you towards your goals?
LT: I have a few:
1) You are what you run. (No excuses)
2) If the Queen had balls, she would be
king! (Actually that's Creighton's)
3) You may not get what you want straight away, but if you
believe in it, it will come.
4) The 3 "P's" (Plan, Patience, Persistence). Without any of
them, you cannot succeed.
5) If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
6) DREAM, BELIEVE, SUCCEED!
PC: I admire your strength of character Lee. I don't
want to sound like I am singing the same old tune but there will
be a day when your eternal energy and sense of immortality will
leave you. "Now" you have the opportunity to achieve great
things in your chosen field.
Good luck at London mate.
LT:
Thanks mate.
