I work as a famous ironman, but I
get paid to be a lawyer. I live in Coorparoo when the
beach house in Tuscany is being rented out. I have lived
in Brisbane since before most of you were born and
joined the Pat Carroll running group in March 2004.
My favourite restaurant is France
Soir, South Yarra.
My earliest childhood memory is
feeling very tired from the move and wondering why everyone
talked to me like I was an idiot. Fortunately, this prepared
me well for a career in the law.
Being an adult seemed like a good
idea when I was a kid.
My favourite movie(s) is The
Godfather I and II. God, I love a good gangster flick!
Brisbane City is My kind of town -
Brisbane is... And each time I roam, Brisbane is - Calling
me home, Brisbane is.... Why I grin just like a clown Its
myyyyyy kind of town! (Love a good Sinatra number!)
My regular holiday destination is
anywhere there is a race on Melbourne, Noosa, Mooloolaba,
New Zealand, Hawaii, etc.
If money was no option I would be
able to afford the premium unleaded I have to put in my
Falcon GT and not have to drive Ruth's Pulsar everywhere.
It frustrates me when I have to
drive Ruth's Pulsar everywhere.
I have been involved in running since
I stopped being a fat bastard in 1996 (photos available
on request) and my most memorable running experience is
the first time I managed the 7 km loop around my suburb
without stopping (see earlier comment re: being a fat
bastard)
I enjoy distance running because
you don't have to go so fast.
My favourite run is Port Melbourne
to Brighton on a fine, windless day so until that happens,
I'll pick the Regatta to New Farm and back.
Motivation is something no one can
give you but yourself (grasshopper).
Injuries are things that happen to
other people and out of which lawyers make lots of money.
Getting braces on my teeth was a
turning point in my life because I could not eat for
weeks, lost weight, started running and so on. Much more
effective than Jenny Craig.
The Pat Carroll running group is a
collection of some of the nicest people I have ever met
(although that may not be saying much, because I associate
with other lawyers so the bar is not set all that high!).
I prefer running in clothes
because without them, when you stop, not everything else
does.
Running is never difficult
once you've finished.
The best advice
anyone ever gave me
is "To get by in this life, you either have to be very
clever, or very nice. I spent thirty years trying to be
clever I can recommend nice."
Peter Hallahan inspires me because
I now believe I have at least 6 more years to still improve.
I will not forget, can't regret,
what I did for love, what I did for loooooooooove !!
(apologies to Diana Ross I really am in a show tunes kind
of mood today).
